Shelly 2.0!!

Thought I would change things up for 2k10 and pursue my dream for my car aka boost .. Picked up a w11 and a big spline box and thought I'd try my hand at the swap.. It's taking longer (alot longer) than I thought as my goal was end of March but it's still on stands..
so far I got the old de and box out...took 4hrs (god bless the impact wrench ) and first time too


Unwrapping the det




Popped the valve cover to install a new set of jwt cams


redid the vc and put brand new seals while I was in there


Spec clutch and Fidanza fw


I couldn't find all the components needed to keep the box hydraulic so I sadly converted it to cable..
While the engine was out I was sooo glad to find that 3 out of 4 of the mounts were shot (yeaa I get to spend more money so I sucked it up and went all prothane mounts.. I replaced both inner and outer tie rods on both sides and also both cradle arm (easy to do with the engine bay empty..
I got the box mated to the engine and got in it in the bay mounted by the transmission and side mount.. I tried mounting the front mount only to realise it would not fit with the turbo right there so I made one up in work today (no pics yet though )..
I still got quite a few stuff to do so I'll update hopefully with pics as I progress (verrrryyy slowwwlyy lol )

started collecting the parts already.turbo manifold,small intercooler.looking for the sleeper look! will only be running about 7psi max.(stock internals)

Well I got some raxles axles and 300zx brake setup in today..(dam that left side axle was a pain with the c clip on the end but I finally got it)

I got some 5mm spacers to clear the calipers but when I offered it up, it confirmed my fear, I needed longer studs. The wheel also seem that it was going to hit the fenders so took the grinder to the caliper and erased the nissan sign instead of raising the car back up

Thats excellent man, a friend of mine has a de+t in his primera with stock internals, cometic head gasket and pushing 280hp at 10psi

I thought I'd share a couple pics of when I bought Shelly and the transformation(s)..lol enjoy!!

Imagine what I had to go through to get this one piece exhaust out (was not in reach of anything more that hacksaw blades at the time that kept breaking)


I put the halos and custom grille (custom meaning chicken wire and black paint )


Then came the paint (the only thing I paid to get done and it was not for a lack of trying.. ) and a different grille


Replaced ALL interior seats, panels, covers, visors, headliner & sunroof cover etc with original ones, got a white gauge cluster, installed a few gauges on the A pillar, racing pedals, generic mats (can't find the original ones but at least its better than none)and small audio system



Aem cold air intake, front strut bar, stainless extractors, dp, testpipe and megan catback



Got slotted and drilled rotors all round, then swapped out the fronts for the ad22vf's then went with the fastbrake 11.75" big rotor upgrade for the ad22s and now on to the 300zx 4pot in front and eventually maxima's 10.1" rears w/calipers and altima MC (to be intalled)


New 17" konigs and dropped on megan coilovers, added a stillen front lip and lucino grille


Did a digital gauge cluster swap from an nx1600 (took 2 days just to figure out wiring.. )


Audio setup 880prs, rf comps up front, mb quarts in rear (deck powered), ss lil wonder 4ch and rf p1 10", not much but nice and clean


Thats about what I did over a period of two years and still nowhere close to complete (is it ever?? )

ok well I've been slacking off lately and progress is at an all time low..lol..
I got the front and back mount in (finally).. I got the exhaust done, mounted the intercooler and mocked up all the piping..
now on to a few pics

for those DIYers, this is how I put beads on the ic piping
I used a normal wire crimper and crimped a bead around the pipe, takes a bit of time but works just as good.. (I sat down and watched a movie when I was doing it to pass time..lol)

ok started it up last weekend and heard this rattling noise, in the process of dropping the gearbox to see if I find anything
